Your wedding day is one of the biggest days of your life. A dog is part of your family too why not make things unique and include them too? You spend hours planning and getting ready and it’s easy to overlook things (we know from experience:) ) so here are few tips to keep in mind when planning to include a dog.
1. Hire a wedding pet attendant:
One thing you may need to include in your wedding planning is a wedding pet attendant. Do a local search to find providers local to you. But basically these services can keep your pet occupied, groomed, fed and more during your special day. Some will even walk your dog down the aisle with you if you prefer that. Either way you definitely don’t want to have to worry about your dog eating your cake!
2. Give them a fresh haircut and grooming
This is probably a given but hey its always a good reminder. Make sure to get a fresh cut for your dog and grooming to look good in those beautiful wedding pics.
3. Get a stylish leash and or collar for your dog:
Here at Helm and Harbor we have had many individuals purchase leashes or leash and collar sets for their pets. White is the most popular leash for weddings. But if Hunter Green, Black, Navy or Red are your colors, then we have those too!
4. Doggie Attire
If it fits your wedding, there are shops galore for wedding bandanas and bow ties. Here are a few Etsy shops that offer adorable options. (no affiliations)
5. Dog Friendly Venue
Before adding your pup to your wedding party, it is a good idea to make sure that pets are allowed on the venue premises. You wouldn’t want any last minute hiccups that will lead to disappointment. So definitely check first before signing the contract.
Thanks for stopping by! We hope that you have a beautiful wedding day!
